Samsung said that its planning to remove the 3.5mm audio jack from their upcoming flagship smartphones. There will be no headphone jack in Galaxy Note 10 and Samsung Galaxy S11. The information came from a fairly reputable source and the reasoning behind this action is that the wireless headphones are becoming increasingly popular in the market and the global wireless earphone market will expand by 73.9 million units by 2019 and over 100 million units in 2020. Overall, there’s around 42% growth rate in 3-4 years.
Removing the headphone jack will allow company to increase more battery capacity and use the leftover headphone jack space for some other purpose. However, there will be a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle available in the retail box of both flagship smartphones.
Even though, the rumor came from a very reliable source we will still wait for Samsung to present an official announcement on this topic.
