LG recently launched their new power house Android smartphone, LG G4. This beauty is already available in the market and has the following versions available H815 (EMEA), H815TR (Turkey), H815T (Hong Kong), H815P (LATAM, South Africa), H812 (Canada), H810 (AT&T), H811 (T-Mobile), LS991 (Sprint), VS986 (Verizon), US991 (US Cellular). LG has also launched the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop firmware and this update is now available on T-Mobile LG G4 as well. This update patches the stagefright vulnerability and also improves the overall performance of the device. If you are an Android enthusiast and have the latest H81110n Android firmware installed on your device then its time to root it and install a custom recovery like TWRP on it.

This Android guide we’ll first install the custom recovery which will be used to install the custom packages like SuperSU. If you are ready and want to root your T-Mobile LG G4 then you need to follow all the steps of our Android root tutorial.

This guide is only for T-Mobile LG G4 running on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop H81110n. The root packages and files that we are going to share in this tutorial is only for T-Mobile LG G4. Before Getting Started:

  • Before proceeding, make sure you have taken a proper backup of your important data like media files, messaging, emails contacts.
  • Download and install the LG G4 USB Drivers on your Windows PC.
  • Your T-Mobile LG G4 must be running on H81110n firmware.
  • Your device should have more than 70 percent battery remaining to avoid any unexpected shutdowns during the rooting process.
  • You have enabled USB Debugging on your device. You can enable USB Debugging by going in to Settings > Developer Options >Enable OEM Unlock and enable USB Debugging.

How to Install TWRP on T-Mobile LG G4

These are the steps for installing TWRP in T-Mobile LG G4. Installing TWRP in the device is pretty simple. Just follow the steps below:
Step 1: Connect your T-Mobile LG G4 to the computer via USB cable.
Step 2: Extract H811-One-Click.zip file that you have downloaded from the above link.
Step 3: Open the extracted folder and run the .bat file with the following name LG-G4-H811-UNLOCK-TWRP.bat file. Click on it to start installing TWRP.
Step 4: Choose the Allow button to allow USB Debugging request. Now, the flashing process will be initiated and the device may reboot many times.
Step 5: Disconnect the device and remove the battery when prompted.
Step 6: Now put the batter back in and Power On your LG G4.

Congratulations. You have successfully installed TWRP on LG G4.

How to Root T-Mobile LG G4 Running on H81110n through TWRP Recovery:

Step 1: Connect your device with the PC and copy/paste the SuperSU zip file to the internal storage of your device.
Step 2: Now turn the device off and boot into TWRP Recovery by pressing and holding Volume Down + Power button together. Once the LG logo appears, release the power button and press again.
Step 3: Factory reset your LG G4 two times when asked and you will be directed to TWRP.
Step 4: Now, your phone is now in TWRP Recovery, choose install and select the SuperSU.zip file that you have copy pasted.
Step 5: Swipe right to install. After the installation gets completed. Reboot your device.
