The first quarter of 2018 has gone and we are already seeing many companies incorporating Display Notch in their flagship devices. LG G7, Huawei P20, OnePlus 6, and ASUS Zenfone 5/5Z, all have one thing in common – and that’s display notch. The iPhone X received heavy criticism for making that Display Notch part of their device but now we are seeing many Android devices going that path. The same happened when Apple removed 3.5 mm jack from iPhone 7, users criticized and mocked the move. But, eventually, we are witnessing every other device without a 3.5mm audio jack. Anyhow, you like it or not but we sense that Display Notch is the future and we are going to see more and more devices having it as part of the design. However, if you are totally disgusted by the notch don’t worry, we have a solution for you. Here’s how you can Hide Display Notch on Android Devices.

How to Hide Display Notch on Android Devices
Nacho Notch — Notch Hider is a free app developed by XDA Forum Moderator Zacharee1. The app only has one purpose: Hide Display Notch on Android Devices. The app is pretty simple without any fancy settings and stuff. Nacho Notch – Notch Hider is implemented as Quick Settings tile, meaning you can quickly toggle the notch on/off from Quick Settings. The app will draw an entirely black overlay above the status bar but below the other status bar elements. This way the Display Notch will hide under that black overlay which is created by Nacho Notch. The overlay automatically hides itself when you switch your phone in landscape mode.
This app is specifically designed for phones with Display Notch. However, if you don’t have a phone with notch you can still download and install Nacho Notch to just have a black status bar. Download Nacho Notch – Notch Hider from below.
