HMD Global confirmed today that Nokia’s mid-range smartphone, Nokia 2 will receive Android 8.1 Oreo update in the next few months. This good news was confirmed by Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global who responded a question on Twitter. Here’s what he said:
Hi! It will receive Android Oreo. 1GB RAM devices will be supported on 8.1 release where many of the Android Go memory management improvements will be integrated. Nokia 2 performance will only get better over time!

Nokia 2 is a mid-range Android smartphone which comes with a 5 inch 720p display and is powered by a Snapdragon 212 chipset and 1 GB of RAM. The device arrived with Android Nougat but now it will be updated to Android 8.1 Oreo. If you own a Nokia 2 or planning to get one then now is the best time to get one.
