Android Go is the stripped version of Android Oreo 8.1 which is designed to run on lower end smartphones. The Android Go comes with applications which consume lesser RAM and storage. Google has already launched Gmail Go, Youtube Go, Maps Go and some other applications for Android Go and now Google announced that it is working on an Android Go image for Android Studio Emulator. Once its added, Android developers can easily test their apps on Android Studio.

A Google representative on Reddit said, Google is “in the process of providing an official Android Go image” to Android Studio’s Emulator.

Overall, it’s a good news for Android developers as they can now easily make their apps compatible with Android 8.1 Go edition.
