We can now safely assume the position of Samsung Galaxy S9 Fingerprint Sensor. Leaked transparent Galaxy S9 cases clearly gives us an idea about Galaxy S9 Fingerprint sensor position – See the images at the end of the post. It was rumored earlier that we might see the first fingerprint sensor built in the screen on Samsung Galaxy S9, but if these leaked Galaxy S9 transparent cases are real then again we will see a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Only this time, the Samsung has been kind enough to move it below the camera lens. Therefore, the chances of smudging your camera lens are minimized.
Leaked Galaxy S9 case also suggests that Samsung isn’t going to give up on 3.5mm jack as yet. The Galaxy S9 will have IP68 certification meaning it will be water and dustproof. In my opinion, one of the reasons which compel the mobile manufacturers to give up on 3.5mm jack is that it’s very costly to secure the hole as big as 3.5mm jack from water and dust. Therefore, they remove the 3.5mm jack. Anyhow, it’s just my opinion you could argue against it.
As for now, we can say that Galaxy S9 will have rear-mounted fingerprint sensor positioned just below the camera. Moreover, Samsung is also retaining 3.5mm jack, so you could expect high-quality earphones packed in the box of Galaxy S9.
