Samsung has started rolling out the October update for Galaxy S8 and S8+. The users in Netherlands received the latest updates G950FXXU1AQI9 and G955FXXU1AQI9 for Galaxy S8 and S8+. Definitely, it will be pushed to other parts of the world as well. The latest OTA update for Galaxy S8/S8+ comes with a new firmware build number G950FXXU1AQI9 and G955FXXU1AQI9 respectively for SM-G950F/FD & SM-G955F/FD. The update brings October patch and brings more stability to Dex mode as well. Samsung has also brought more stability to the S8 launcher in this October update. Latest update weigh about 479MB.

This update is being pushed via OTA updates system, which means everyone is not going to get the update at once. Prerequisites

How To Update Galaxy S8/S8+ to XXU1AQI9 Android 7.0 Nougat


Step 1:
Download XXU1AQI9 and Odin.

Step 2: Extract downloaded firmware to get tar.md5 file.

Step 3: To boot Galaxy S8/S8+ into Download Mode, Turn your phone off. Once it’s fully off, press and hold the Bixby and Volume Down button and then press the Power button. The phone will boot into Download Mode. Now, press Volume Up key to continue!

Step  4: Open your Odin folder and right click on Odin file and then click on Run as Administrator. After that connect your phone to PC with USB cable.

Step 5: In Odin tool one of the ID: COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number. This means your phone is connected successfully.

Step 6: Now click on AP and select md5 file of firmware which we extracted earlier.

Step 7: Before clicking on start make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options are selected, but re-partition option must NOT be ticked.

Step 8:  Your Galaxy S8/S8+ will reboot once the installation is completed. Keep the device connected to USB until you reach the home screen.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed stock XXU1AQI9 Android 7.0 Nougat firmware on your Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+.
