How to use Samsung Galaxy S8 Screen Recorder App on other Android devices

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are not yet available for public but some stock applications of the latest flagship has already been ported for other devices. First, there was the Samsung S8 Launcher, later on it was Hello Bixby and now it’s time for Samsung Galaxy S8 Screen Recorder. Thanks to hardik190, an XDA member who found this new screen recorder application and its now available for all Android devices running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow or higher. This new S8 screen recorder application is fully stable and functional and lets you start recording right away.

So, if you are interested and want to install Galaxy S8 screen recorder on your Android device then follow the steps.

Pre-Requisites:

  1. Android device running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or higher
  2. Unknown Sources enabled

How to install Samsung Galaxy S8 screen recorder on any Android device:

1. First of all, download Galaxy S8 Screen recorder APK file.

2. Now, install ‘More Shortcuts’ application from Google Play Store. This applications allows you to launch the screen recorder app as it doesn’t provide an app drawer icon.

3. Once installed, open ‘More Shortcuts’ app and select ‘Activity’. Here you will find the ‘Record Screen‘ entry.

Once done, tap on the ‘Settings’ option found under ‘Record screen’ and tap on OK’ to install the shortcut popup. Repeat the same process for the ‘LauncherActivity.

After you added the shortcuts, the screen recorder app will ask for permissions. Grant the permissions and start the application. On first run, you might see a warning that the app can’t record with an active overlay. It has a simple fix, Go to Settings and disable all the active overlays with the exception of ‘Record Screen’.

Once done, use the Galaxy S8 screen recorder app on your android device. All the recordings will be saved in the pictures folder on your SD card or internal storage.
