Prerequisites:
- Make sure the ADB, Fastboot and USB Drivers are installed on your PC.
- Enable Developer Options, to do this go to Settings > About Phone. From here tap on build number 6 to 7 times.
- Enable USB Debugging in Settings > Developer Options.
- Enable OEM Unlocking by going to Settings > Developer Options.
- Backup all important data as unlocking bootloader on LG G6 H870 will delete all data.
- Make sure your device is charged up to 60% to avoid any shutdowns during unlock procedure. This might damage your device permanently.
How to Unlock Bootloader on LG G6 H870
Step 1: – First create a free LG developer’s account.
Step 2: – Next you need two things; Device id and IMEI number to unlock bootloader on LG G6 H870. To get the IMEI, you can simply type *#06# in the dialer and note it down somewhere safe. To obtain the Device id, follow below steps carefully.
Step 3: – Connect your LG G6 to the computer and the go to ADB and Fastboot directory and open the command prompt there and type the following command.
adb reboot bootloader
Step 4: – Now type in the following command, once your LG G6 boots into bootloader mode.
fastboot oem device-id
Step 5: – The above command should return similar results as mentioned below as an example.
$ fastboot oem device-id

Step 6: – To obtain official bootloader unlock key you need to put above two device ids in one single line. For example CD58B679A38D6B613ED518F37A05E013 F93190BD558261DBBC5584E8EF8789B1.
Step 7: – Now head towards LG Developer Website, log into it and click the Start Unlocking the Bootloader button.
Step 8: – Here enter your details include your name, email ID, IMEI and device ID.
Step 9: – After entering all the details, select ‘LG G6 H870‘ from the drop down of the ‘Phone‘ menu and click on‘Confirm‘.
Step 10: – Now you will get bootloader unlock (unlock.bin) key for LG G6 H870 on your email. Download the file and save it in ADB/Fastboot directory.
Step 11: – Enter the following command while your LG G6 in bootloader mode.
fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin
Step 12: – Now to reboot your device type
fastboot reboot
